It has been almost 44 years since my wife decided to be buried in the sand. All of her body is covered with sand, except her head. We chose a beach on an island in the Indian Ocean. We wanted to stay together—as far as that is possible for a married couple when one part decides to spend the rest of its life buried in sand.
